My teaser this week is from The Blood King by Liz Long

I couldn’t blame her for pushing me away. She was convinced she would never see me again, maybe even truly believing I would die soon and away from home. 

In the kingdom of Brighton, a President-turned-King offers poor teens the chance to join KEY, the King’s Education for Youth. Seventeen-year-old Reina Torres jumps at the chance to be of service to her country, wanting to learn more about Brighton’s history and future through the Media industry.

The King himself takes an interest in Reina, offering private interviews; he soon commands her to marry his cruel son. Reina, however, cannot ignore her growing feelings for Iris, a fellow KEY student, despite knowing the laws. Reina discovers refusal means punishment much worse than death, and why King Magnus hasn’t aged in decades, thanks to his KEY program.

There’s something familiar and comforting about him. Something that draws me in. I feel safe when he’s near and long to feel his protective arms around me. The more time I spend with him, the more of my heart he steals and the harder it is for me to fight my attraction to him

I want to trust him, to believe he’ll keep me safe, but secrets begin to surface. Secrets with deadly consequences. Dark secrets that have been following us both for years.

Trusting him threatens to break me. Not trusting him threatens to kill me.

No matter what I choose, my life will never be the same.

My Russian Nightmare by Danielle Sibarium was a very quick and entertaining read. I liked Dimitri's intensity, but I'm still not sure if I trust him all the way. I think he's been in this lifestyle so long(whether he wanted to be or not) that he's still at odds with aspects of himself. Or was I reading too much into him? The same goes for her brother. I feel like there was all this behind the scenes stuff going on, and I want to know more about it. The action kept going, and it kept my attention completely. The conflict resolution in the end seemed too easy, too quick, and too good to be true, which makes me wonder if there's more coming for these characters in another book.  If so, I definitely am curious about what happens next.

Danielle Sibarium YA and NA author grew up in Brooklyn, New York. Throughout her childhood, she transported herself into a fantasy world full of magic and wonder. Your Captivating Love is the second book in The Bennett Family series by Layla Hagen. I liked what I saw of Logan in the first book, so I was excited when I saw this was going to be his story. He has that whole delicious Alpha thing going. I didn't realize that from the first book, because he was the "nice" brother, but he knows how to put on the smolder with some authority and get his way without seeming like a total jerk.

Nadine is fun. I love her dream of opening a bridal boutique with her own dresses. That would be the ultimate in fun jobs, I think. She knows what she wants. She has a plan. And, she's used to getting things done on her own. So, the Bennett clan is a little overwhelming at first, and Logan can be overbearing to say the least. Needless to say, their story was interesting and fun. I love the Bennetts, and I can't wait for more of their books!

He kisses me to… kiss me.
I have never been kissed like this before. He worships my mouth, and I know he’d do the same with my body. Without warning, Logan intensifies the kiss. He pushes me against the wall, sucking on my tongue. I burn between my thighs, my whole body alive with need. When I mirror the action on his tongue, I’m rewarded with a groan. He pulls back, dropping his mouth to my neck.
“You taste so sweet,” he says. “I could kiss you all night, Nadine.”
“Why don’t you?” I whisper. “Can I have a second kiss?”
His lips curl into a smile against my neck.
“You’re an impatient little thing. No second kiss right now.” He lifts his head, looking straight at me. “Remember what I told you about anticipation?”
“Yes.”
“I must give you some incentive to accept going on a second date with me.”
I laugh. “You sure can negotiate.”
