Book Review!! Beyond Gray Skies by Danielle Sibarium

Beyond Gray Skies by Danielle Sibarium
Genre: Adult Fiction (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: June 27, 2022
Publisher: Self

Single mom Amber Collins plasters on a phony smile and goes through the motions. Heartbroken and destroyed after the tragic death of her husband, her time is spent catering to her thirteen year old son Logan, while doing her best to fake it through each and every day.

Flirtatious smiles and heated looks coming from Logan’s twenty-something year old volleyball coach melt the ice coating Amber’s frozen heart. Before she knows what’s happening, Mason Archer is her friend, confidant and lover. She doesn’t want to fall for Mason, but her heart didn’t get the memo.

Finding happiness she never thought possible, Amber insists on keeping their relationship secret. She’s afraid of the whispers and disapproving looks that are sure to come her way once the world sees her with a younger man. Most of all, she’s afraid of how her son will react to her new relationship.

How many shots at love does one person get? Having lost so much already, will Amber be able to live without the man who brought her back to life, or will she embrace this new taboo relationship?

Beyond Gray Skies is a sexy older woman and a younger man second chance romance full of love, heartache and hope.

Beyond Gray Skies by Danielle Sibarium is an age gap romance that brings out a lot of feels in its readers. Amber lost her husband a couple years ago, and the road has been tough for her and her son. Neither of them has coped or moved on. How can you really?! Then Mason, her son's coach, comes into the picture. He's sweet, she's cute, he's the perfect man... he's also quite a bit younger than she is. All these feelings he stirs up bring on a multitude of emotions in Amber: fear, excitement, guilt. .. Not to mention if word got out, the town would talk, and she worries how that will effect her son. I thought this was all pretty believable. I couldn't imagine being in her shoes. I would never want to be. But, these emotions and her reactions felt natural and realistic. This author is an expert at bringing out the gritty bits in life. She's done it in her other books, and she does it again in Beyond Gray Skies.

*This book does contain cheating. If that's a hard limit for you, you may want to pass on Broken Pieces.

Broken Pieces by Danielle Sibarium pulls at your emotions on many levels. This author is so good at that. You may or may not be able to relate to what the characters are going through in your real life, but Bianca's story is so well built that you can easily put yourself in her shoes. I understood her emotions and why it wasn't easy to just leave or give up on one person over another. She saw inside to the "real" them. No matter what decisions she made through this story, so many things could go wrong and so many things could go right. There was no easy answer to anything. I went through part of this story thinking I had it all put together, only to find that I only had a bit of it figured out. These characters aren't that easy. They're complicated, gritty, and real. Sometimes you wanted to hug them. Sometimes you wanted to kick them. Just like in real life. And, I loved that about them. Broken Pieces is a keeper!

Release Day Review! My Russian Nightmare by Danielle Sibarium

My Russian Nightmare by Danielle Sibarium
Genre: Adult (Suspense/Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: April 22, 2016
Publisher: Self

I was stolen from my brother’s bedside by bad men with evil intentions. Tall, dark, and terrifying, Dimitri stands out. He shows tenderness and kindness that the other members of the Russian mob seem incapable of.

There’s something familiar and comforting about him. Something that draws me in. I feel safe when he’s near and long to feel his protective arms around me. The more time I spend with him, the more of my heart he steals and the harder it is for me to fight my attraction to him

I want to trust him, to believe he’ll keep me safe, but secrets begin to surface. Secrets with deadly consequences. Dark secrets that have been following us both for years.

Trusting him threatens to break me. Not trusting him threatens to kill me.

No matter what I choose, my life will never be the same.

My Russian Nightmare by Danielle Sibarium was a very quick and entertaining read. I liked Dimitri's intensity, but I'm still not sure if I trust him all the way. I think he's been in this lifestyle so long(whether he wanted to be or not) that he's still at odds with aspects of himself. Or was I reading too much into him? The same goes for her brother. I feel like there was all this behind the scenes stuff going on, and I want to know more about it. The action kept going, and it kept my attention completely. The conflict resolution in the end seemed too easy, too quick, and too good to be true, which makes me wonder if there's more coming for these characters in another book.  If so, I definitely am curious about what happens next.
