Top Ten Week! My Favorite Book Boyfriends of 2016

These guys know how to steam up the pages! They are in no particular order. Click the images to read my reviews.
Max
He's a childhood friend who becomes more with a mix of sweet and naughty.

Chase
You can't go wrong with a steamy cowboy best friend. Or can you??

Greydon
A dangerous spy with a naughty reputation.

Dax
Dax lives in a world I could get lost in, and be completely happy about it. He has a past. He has trust issues. He's Alpha. He also has this teddy bear side that he tries pretty darn hard to keep hidden.

Alex
I can't adequately describe Alex in any way that would do him the justice he deserves.

Jaxon
Is it weird that I'm adding Jaxon to this list? He's not dating the main character. She doesn't even like him. He's not nice most of the time. Why is he here? Because there is something about him! I don't think we've seen much of the true Jaxon yet. We've gotten glimpses, but that's all. I can't help myself. I have to add him.

Kiren
I got to know him in the previous books as his present self. In Timeless, I went back in time and got to know his younger self. I like him even more now! This dude's pretty hard to resist.

Logan
I've been intrigued by Logan since book one, and let me tell you... he didn't disappoint.

Julian
Julian is pretty steamy. His romantic situation won't be easy. It never is for a shadowhunter.

 Mateo
Forbidden. Passionate. Vampire. What's not too love??

Book Review: Chasing Fate by K.K. Watson

Chasing Fate (The Dark Races #2) by K.K. Watson
Genre: Adult (Paranormal/Fantasy Romance)
Date Published: September 5, 2016
Publisher: Self

Nearly a year has passed, and it's Elena's birthday. All has been quiet in the Realm, but as Witch Raevyn Thorn prepares to help celebrate her friend's birthday, a Vampire from her past shows up at her door.
Out of the blue, a Werewolf, humans, and a strange Demon/Witch halfling make an appearance in the Dark District just before Luna's eagerly awaited Samhain festival, putting everyone on edge.

Vampire Mateo Reyes only visit's Luna's Apothecary to seek out help for his still struggling progeny. He never expects the Witch he has been inexplicably attracted to, to be waiting to strike with a wooden stake.

Frustrated by Raevyn's carelessness and lack of self preservation, Matt must take the Witch with him to Italy in order to protect her and help find their abducted friends.

Their unexpected blood bond, along with Raevyn's newly emerging powers, leave them both chasing a fate they may not be destined to share.

Chasing Fate is the second book in The Dark Races series by K.K. Watson. If you haven't read Tempting Fate yet, I highly recommend you do so, as this is a series that needs to be read in order. This time we're given Raevyn and Matt's point of view. These two have to be the most stubborn couple, especially Raevyn. She was bound and determined determined to not love this guy it seems. This made for a lot of tension and bantering between the two, and that's always fun. There are a lot of prejudices among the races, and they are all learning how to work well together and play nice. So, that only makes it that much harder for them. Like the first book, there is so much going on. Never a dull moment. There are new characters, new villains, new dangers. Chasing Fate was an amazing sequel. I'm addicted to this world. K.K. Watson is an author to watch.

Book Review: Tempting Fate by K.K. Watson

Tempting Fate (The Dark Races #1) by K.K. Watson
Genre: Adult (Paranormal/Fantasy Romance)
Date Published: May 9, 2015
Publisher: Self

After losing her adoptive parents in a horrific car accident, Elena Kelly is sent to be raised by her cousin, Gregory. On Elena's twenty-fifth birthday, Greg takes her out for a nice birthday dinner. While in the ladies room, a strange creature pulls her through a mystical mirror.

Elena lands on a strange beach in a strange dimension and comes face to face with a creature she has never seen the likes of before. Out of thin air, a handsome, dangerous, Sorcerer appears and fights the creature. Terrified, injured, and in a strange land, she is forced to trust the stranger who just saved her life.

On the way to find her cousin, he tells her an unbelievable tale of her true origin. Elena is next in line for the Fae crown, that her fate is to unite the Dark races, and her life is in danger.
Once she is reunited with her cousin, she discovers that everything she thought was real, is a lie, and she lives in a world with Vampires, Witches, and Demons.

As Elena's powers increase, so does the danger she faces. She must learn to fight and come to terms with who she is, if she has any hope of saving herself as well as the ones she loves.

Tempting Fate is the first book in The Dark Races series by K.K. Watson. My goodness, this was hard to put down. There was always something happening. Action, humor, romance. It had it all.  The story is told from Elena's point of view, and I got mad at her quite bit . .. because.. well you know, if things are trying to kill you, don't go shopping, or to the bar, or wherever else. Especially alone. Sheesh! But, this is not bad necessarily. It gives a character room to grow. Her spunk and attitude almost made it all forgivable. She's got personality.

I think Aiden may be a new book boyfriend for me. He screams Alpha. It seriously seeps off the pages. He really came alive and had a presence too. I could feel it through the words as I read. I even felt like I knew what his voice would sound like. It was crazy, but oh so good. This guy sure knows how to make a girl swoon, and major kudos to the author for bringing all that out in her character.

The story in general, was excellent and original. There are different types of fae as well as other supernaturals. K.K. Watson put her own unique spin on these creatures which made them stand apart from other characters within this genre, making it even more enjoyable. Tempting Fate is the ultimate escape. It took me right into Elena's world, and I didn't want to leave. I'm super excited about this series!
