Book Review! My Torin by K Webster

My Torin by K Webster
Genre: Adult Fiction (Contemporary Romance / Psychological Romance)
Date Published: January 9, 2018
Publisher: Self

I’m a freak, a misfit, an odd end.
Abandoned and unloved.
But my happiness is so close I can taste it.

Until he shows up.

Gorgeous, expensive, and all man.
Sad brown eyes and a brilliant smile.
And he wants me to go with him.

His intentions are hidden.
His motives are unclear.
Yet, I leave with him because there’s no happiness here.

What he promises feels too good to be true…
A castle. A fortune. And horses too.

It’s too easy.
Nothing in my life has ever been easy.

What’s the catch?
There’s always a catch.

My Torin by K Webster was probably the most unique romance I've ever read, and I really struggled back and forth on how I felt about it. I've lost count on how many times I've changed my rating back and forth. It was nothing like I expected after reading the blurb, and that was a good thing. The less you know about this book before you read it, the better. It makes you think about some things and puts others in some much needed perspective. There were a few very raw and feral moments that may be hard for some people to read since this book is already dealing with sensitive subjects. The characters don't always behave in the ways they should, and I found myself getting mad at them at times too, but I had to remember: These people are broken. All three of them. Psychologically, emotionally, physically...So, their actions and behaviors aren't always those of healthy, normal people. When you read, try to really understand the state of mind, along with the thoughts and emotions of all the parties involved.

When I took all that into consideration, I loved the characters. I loved the romance. It's not a comfortable story. Well, at times it is. It has many truly heartwarming moments, but it will make you cringe too. Each of the three main characters pulled strongly at my heart. They needed each other in an almost symbiotic way. They were fragile, yet their strength grew in spite of their brokenness. It was a beautiful thing. It was a beautiful story in so many ways. The character development was amazing. I fell in love with Casey, Tyler, and Torin as they fluttered to life in my mind thanks to the expressive and enchanting writing style of the author. I literally stayed up all night reading it.
