The Vincent Brothers (The Vincent Boys #2) by Abbi Glines
Genre: New Adult (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: December 18, 2012
Publisher: Simon Pulse

Fifty Shades of Grey meets Jenny Han's Summer series in thissequel to The Vincent Boys , where hot romance is the cure forheartbreak. Getting a boy to fall head-over-heels in love with you isn't easy. Especially when he's been in love with your cousin for as long as you can remember. Lana has lived her life in her cousin's shadow. Ashton alwaysmade perfect grades, had tons of friends, and looks model-perfect.And she's always had Sawyer Vincent?the only boy Lana's everwanted?wrapped around her finger. But now things are different.Lana has a chance to make Sawyer see her, and she's taking it. Ifonly he'd get over Ashton?because Lana is sick of second-best. Sawyer's heart is broken. He's lost his best girl to his bestfriend. And then Lana comes to town. Ashton's cousin has alwaysbeen sweet and soft-spoken, but now she's drop-dead gorgeous aswell. Sawyer doesn't know if Lana can heal his broken heart, butspending time with her might at least make Ashton jealous. What starts as a carefree fling becomes a lusty game ofseduction. Sawyer and Lana may have different motives, but their scintillating hookups are the same kind of steamy. . . .

The Vincent Brothers is the second book in the Vincent Boys series by Abbi Glines. After reading the first book in this series, I was already looking forward to Sawyer and Lana's story. Sawyer is the golden child of the town, and I have to say, I liked seeing him all out of sorts when it came to Lana. Of course, he had a big time case of denial. He's pretty stuck on Ashton, and with Lana being Ashton's cousin, that doesn't make it any easier. Lana's quite the little temptress though, isn't she? She's not trashy though. She has this tempting-innocence thing down to an art, and poor Sawyer is all out of his comfort zone over it. He's never felt these feelings before, and he's not quite sure how to handle them. I found that all to be quite entertaining.

Have you read the first book?

She believes in ghosts and has a habit of asking people if their house is haunted before she goes in it. She drinks afternoon tea because she wants to be British but alas she was born in Alabama. When asked how many books she has written she has to stop and count on her fingers. When she’s not locked away writing, she is reading, shopping (major shoe and purse addiction), sneaking off to the movies alone, and listening to the drama in her teenagers lives while making mental notes on the good stuff to use later. The Vincent Boys (The Vincent Boys #1) by Abbi Glines

Fifty Shades of Grey meets Jenny Han's Summer series in this sizzling account of attraction and betrayal. There was something wicked about Beau that drew me to him. What was wrong with me? Why did I want to sin so badly Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parentsand playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect,a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer,it's his cousin Beau who catches Ashton's eye. Beau is the sexiestguy she's ever seen, and even though he's dangerous, Ashton isdrawn to him. Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wantsto do is make a move on Sawyer's girl. Ashton is off-limits,absolutely. That's why he does his best to keep his distance, eventhough he's been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants torekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer's absence, Beau knowshe should say no. Ashton and Beau don't want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they tryto stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It's getting way too hard to resist....

The Vincent Boys is the first book in The Vincent Boys series by Abbi Glines. After finishing the Sea Breeze series, I needed some more books to get my Abbi Glines fix. So, I decided to check out The Vincent Boys. The blurb compares it to Fifty Shades. Even though Beau is the town bad boy, I don't think I'd go so far as to say he's Fifty shades kinda bad. Besides, Abbi Glines is a much better and more original writer in my opinion. Beau and Ashton are a forbidden kind of romance. Ashton is dating Beau's best friend, and like I said before, Beau is the town bad boy. But, there was a time when all three of them were inseparable best friends, so there is a lot at steak here. There was tension of all kinds from all the characters for all different reasons. This was a super fast read, because, like all of Abbi's books that I've read so far, I just can't stop reading once I've started.

Have you read the next book?

I reached for my phone for at least the tenth time to call and cancel when Ashton’s Jetta spun into the gravel drive outside.

Great.

I’d successfully fought off my good intentions just long enough for her to get here. This was bad. Hurting people isn’t something I have issues with, but hurting Sawyer? That’s out of the question.

Ashton stepped out of her car wearing another short dress and carrying a plate of food. Watching the sway of her hips under the wispy fabric, as she made her way toward me, the corners of her mouth turned up in a shy little smile, I decided I didn’t care if I was being a dirtbag. Sawyer wasn’t here and I couldn’t seem to help myself.

My cousin should have stayed his ass home.
