Tour! A Review of Rampant by Gemma James

Rampant (Condemned #2) by Gemma JamesGenre: Adult (Contemporary Romance/Erotica) 18+
Date Published: October 28, 2014
Publisher: Self

Life is twisted. Cruel. After being ripped from the safe haven of Rafe's arms, my new kidnapper is waging a sick game. Unable to make my body do his bidding, he's resorting to psychological warfare. He'll bend my mind until I break, and when I do, that just might be my saving grace.

I'll forge through hell to get back to Rafe, body and spirit broken and bleeding, but I'm unprepared for what I find. He's done what I can't: he's erased eight years of pain and betrayal. I don't know how to bring him back to me, because bringing him back means ripping him to shreds all over again.

RAMPANT is a new adult dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences. Part two of the CONDEMNED series. This is not a stand-alone read.

Rampant is book two in the Condemned series by Gemma James. I wasn't as consumed by this book as I was the first book, and I think that's because there was so much of Zach in it. We got a detailed look at Zach's kind of crazy and saw where Alex's father's loyalties lie. Where we seemed to be moving forward with healing(even if in a deranged way *wink*) and plot through the last book, this one moved us backwards on many levels. I've really had enough of Zach and what he does to Alex. I'm done with that part of the storyline. Let's move on.

I like Rafe without his memory. It gave me a glimpse of who he was before his life went down the drain. Could this be a second chance for Rafe and Alex? It's never that easy. Not that anything about this series is easy.

Rampant by Gemma James was kindly provided to me by Dark World Books for review. The opinions are my own.

Check out my review of the first book in this series!

She lives with her husband and their four children—three rambunctious UFC/wrestling-loving boys and one girl who steals everyone’s attention.

Tour! A Review of Torrent by Gemma James

Torrent (Condemned #1) by Gemma James
Genre: Adult (Contemporary Romance) 18+

She sent an innocent man to prison. Now, eight years later, he's returning the favor...

I’ve been obsessed with Rafe Mason since I was thirteen. The twisted part of this story is that I still want him, even now.

Now that he's holding me captive on an island.

Rafe has his reasons for doing what he's doing, and if I'm honest, I can't blame him. I’m the girl who sent him to prison for a heinous crime he didn't commit.

But now he's free and the tables have turned...now he's the one driven by obsession.

TORRENT is a new adult dark romance with disturbing themes and explicit content, including sexual scenes and violence that may offend some. Intended for mature audiences. Part one of the CONDEMNED series. This is not a stand-alone read. Approximately 43,000 words.

Torrent is the first book in the Condemned series by Gemma Jones. This wasn't at all the story I was expecting. I was expecting a girl with a major case of Stockholm Syndrome, and that's not what I got at all. If I knew all that this book actually did entail, I never would have read it. I found myself cringing and crossing my legs more times then I care to count, but at the same time, did I put the book down? Call it morbid curiosity or whatever, but no I didn't. And will I read the next book? Probably so, and for the same reason. This story took dark and twisted to the extreme. In some ways, I can understand the mind set behind the actions/behaviors of Rafe and Alex. These are some majorly broken people. Some of it seemed a little unreal, but This is a situation I can't relate to in any way, so what do I know? There were some things that went beyond the believability factor for me, like the ending. I'm not a fan of how this cliffhanger ending played out. I really wasn't sure how to rate this one, but the fact that as disturbing as it was, and I still couldn't put it down.. well... maybe I need therapy too.
