Væmpires Revolution Tour: Review & Giveaway of Væmpires: Revolution by Thomas Winship

Genre: Young Adult/New Adult (Paranormal/Dystopian)

The Blurb:
It is the morning of Princess Cassandra’s sixteenth birthday. Everyone’s attention is focused on the heir to the vampire throne. World leaders, the rich and famous, and VIPs from every corner of the globe have gathered in the nation’s capital to celebrate the momentous event.

Cassandra’s boyfriend, Daniel, is late for the party. He’s still outside the city when all hell breaks loose. What he believes is an act of terrorism proves to be a full-fledged revolution. Væmpires—former vampires who mutated into warm-blooded creatures with an insatiable hunger for cold blood—have launched coordinated attacks across the globe, with three goals: the eradication of humanity, the enslavement of vampires, and the ascension of væmpires as the dominant species on the planet.
The vampire and human leaders are killed. Cassandra is missing. Daniel is the acting king. Desperate to find the princess, Daniel and his friends fight their way across the besieged city. With the hopes of the free world resting on the shoulders of four vampire teenagers, væmpires unleash their secret weapons: a new breed of væmpire that is far deadlier than any ever seen before.

What can four teens do against an enemy that can shape-shift, fly, and walk through walls?

My Review:
Væmpires: Revolution is the first published novel written written by Thomas Winship and the first book in The Evolutionary War series. The author provided many original ideas throughout this book. His version of the origin of the vampire species was highly original. It was an idea I had never thought of before, but it makes complete sense within the story. Vampires aren't the top of the food chain in this book. A new species has developed over the years and want their time in the spot light. That means war. The peace the World has known as humans and vampires learned to live in harmony is over. This book is full of blood and fighting, lots of blood and fighting, and I do mean LOTS! I enjoyed reading the fluctuating perspectives of the two main characters. The characters seem very mature. It was hard for me to picture them as teenagers sometimes, but I liked them all the same. In their world, they are forced to mature early. Though they were super human, theVæmpires and maybe the Vampires too,  seemed to still have some human characteristics like acne and obesity. The possibility of catching a disease was even a concern for a moment. This added a realistic feel to it in a sense that they really could have mutated from humans originally. I found that whole idea intriguing. The author's writing makes it very easy to visualize every thing as it happens. Væmpires: Revolution was non-stop action from page one right down to the ultimate cliffhanger.

    1. That's the biggest joke of all, Naomi--pathological liar is my ONLY talent! Everything else is stolen from the Internet.

The crusty old sailor earned a bit of shore leave, so he's wreaking havoc elsewhere for the moment. But, he'll be back ...
