Book Review: Perilous Light by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Genre: Young Adult (Fantasy Romance)

Perilous Light is the second book in The Afterglow Trilogy by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Perilous Light takes place a year after Charlotte first goes through the gate in Beckoning Light. Charlotte, Kevin, and Liam try to resume their normal lives back in North Carolina while James stays as obnoxious as ever. When they receive news that they are urgently needed back in Energo, they face unexpected challenges and meet unusual people, but it's crucial they help the Resistance grow. Their lives depend on it.

Perilous Light followed Beckoning Light flawlessly. Like Beckoning Light, the story is told from both Charlotte and Kevin's point of view. In addition, Calvin also gets his point of view shown as well. I enjoyed his perspective. It gave you a glimpse of where he stands. Characters grow throughout the book, and you'll question some of their true allegiances. Perilous Light introduces you to new lands, new species, and new characters. They all come together and perfectly fit in with the direction of the story. Alyssa Rose Ivy has once again given us a wonderful novel, and the release of the third and final book in the trilogy, Enduring Light, can't get here fast enough. I'm still Team Liam!

  1. I love books that are done from 2-3 different point of views. More than that is often too much but just the one or two extra POVs really adds to the story. Especially if a guys POV is thrown into the mix :)

I have this series for review, but I have not read it yet. I can't wait to now. Thanks for the review.
