Book Review! Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin

Forever My Girl (Beaumont #1) by Heidi McLaughlin
Genre: New Adult (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: December 27, 2012
Publisher: Bandit Publishing Company

I was never supposed to be a rock star. I had my life all planned out for me. Play football in college. Go to the NFL. Marry my high school sweetheart and live happily ever after.

I broke both our hearts that day when I told her I was leaving. I was young. I made the right decision for me, but the wrong decision for us. I've poured my soul into my music, but I've never forgotten her. Her smell, her smile.

And now I'm going back.

After ten years.

I hope I can explain that after all this time.

I still want her to be my forever girl.

Forever My Girl is the first book in the Beaumont series by Heidi McLaughlin. I hadn't heard of this book until I saw the trailer for the movie, which looked like my kind of movie. So, I figured it'd be my kind of book too, and it was. I didn't expect it to be so believable though... I mean, Rock star, bad boy, and hometown girl romance. Who hasn't heard that story? But, these characters felt so stinkin' real. I believed them. Their story was more like a real life situation. Meaning, it wasn't easy for them at all. This was a fast read, and I liked getting to know the characters. I'm looking forward to getting to know the supporting characters better in the other books in this series as well.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but after seeing the trailer, it looks like they've changed quite a few details. Well... they kinda had to change some things. For example, I'd imagine the movie is not quite as naughty. Let's just say, Book Liam knows how to turn on the smolder... even in his thoughts. Whew!
