The Reluctant Bachelorette Tour! A Review & Giveaway!

Genre: Adult Fiction (Contemporary Romance)
Published: September 1, 2012
Publisher: HEA Publishing, LLC

The Blurb:
Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go.

Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke's an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she's up to, it means revenge.

But when their pranks go south, will they screw up any chance they have at a future together, or will they be able to forgive and forget and prove that love really does conquer all?

My Review:
I love romances that whisk you out of reality and into something fun like The Reluctant Bachelorette does so easily. This book is a clean and entertaining read. Taycee and Luke have some crazy chemistry and are hilarious in how they react to it and each other. While I don't often watch the Bachelorette on TV, I really enjoyed the Bachelorette theme to the book. Even though it was flirty and fun, it was also believable and had some back bone. I truly enjoyed everything about this book, from the pretty cover all the way to the last page. It was a happy and fun reading experience through and through. This is the first book I've read by Rachael Anderson, but it definitely won't be my last.

I definitely recommend this book to all you hopeless romantics out there, and at only 99 cents?? This is a steal!

I received The Reluctant Bachelorette by Rachael Anderson from Book Blasts & Blog Tours for review. The opinions are my own.

About the Author:
Rachael Anderson is the author of four contemporary romances: Divinely Designed, Luck of the Draw, Minor Adjustments, and The Reluctant Bachelorette. She's the mother of four, can't sing, doesn't dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.

The Reluctant Bachelorette Tour! An Interview With Rachael Anderson

We are excited to have Rachael Anderson with us today on our stop off of  The Reluctant Bachelorette Tour! If you haven't read The Reluctant Bachelorette yet, I highly recomend that you do so! Also,
Don't forget to check out my review of  The Reluctant Bachelorette!

How long have you been writing?
If you count the six years it took me to finish my first book, nearly a decade now.

What inspired you to write The Reluctant Bachelorette ?
The Mormon Bachelor--an internet spin-off of ABC's show.

If you met your husband through a bachelorette show, what kind of dates would you have gone on?
The more creative, outdoor type, like frisbee football or rollerblading or tennis.

What is a secret about you that nobody else knows?
I'm not telling.

What book have you read too many times to count?
Mine, unfortunately, during the revision process. When it comes to other books though, unless I'm reading it to one of my kids, I don't do the re-read thing. There's too many new books out there.

If you could hop into the life of any book character for a day, who would it be, and why?
Lizza from Pride and Prejudice. I'd love to see Pemberley

What is the best piece of writing advice you have ever received?
It's not so much advice as a quote I like by James Michener: "I'm not a very good writer, but I'm an excellent rewriter." It's a good reminder not to get frustrated because pretty much anything can be fixed.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
That when it comes to idioms, I'm ignorant. I used to think it was kill over instead of keel over. And rock the cradle instead of rob the cradle. Good thing I have smarter critique partners. :)

What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Break up fights between my kids, hike, boat, bike, garden, and read. Then there are those thing I don't want to do--like cleaning and laundry and cooking.

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why?
The scene in the tree, because it was romantic and a really fun setting.
