The Duke of Diamonds is the first book in the new series, The Games of Gentlemen by Emily Windsor. I love how this is a new series, but you get glimpses of some of our old friends from the Rules of the Rogue series. You don't have to read that series first, but I definitely recommend them.

The whole premise around Casper being obsessed with a woman in a painting and how everything is pretty much built around that was an intriguing idea. It definitely hooked me, and from the moment he met Evie, this was a very hard book to put down. Evie is in survival mode. So, she's desperate. Casper is pretty darn smart though. He doesn't just fall for her tricks, and that keeps things interesting and makes the story believable. Plus, their chemistry seeps off the pages. Watching them dance around each other as they both try to figure the other out, was highly entertaining. I liked both of these characters a lot, and I was completely enthralled by their story. I'm already looking forward to future books in this series, as there are some other characters I'd love to get to know better too! This one is a keeper!

Emily grew up in the north of England on a diet of historical romance and classical mythology.

Unfortunately, you couldn’t study Georgian slang or the Regency London Season, so she did the next best thing and gained a degree in Classics and History instead. This ‘led’ to an eight-year stint in engineering.

Having left city life, she now lives in a dilapidated farmhouse in the country where her days are spent writing, fixing the leaky roof, battling the endless vegetation and finding pictures of well-tied cravats.
