Book Review: Darkbeam Part I by Adrienne Woods

Darkbeam Part I (Beam #2) by Adrienne Woods

Genre: Adult (Dark Fantasy)

Publisher: Fire Quill Publishers

Everyone in Paegeia knows that only one Rubicon dragon lives at a time.

If more than one, they will destroy Paegeia and eventually the rest of the world as they crave that constant power for dominance.

Blake Leaf is this era's Rubicon, and is destined for great things if his darkness can be won.

Darkbeam Part 1 follows the story of the Rubicon and how he tries to keep his beast, the darkness, at bay.

Dark Beam Part I it's the second book in the Beam Series by Adrienne Woods. I absolutely loved Firebolt, so I thought I'd absolutely love this book too. Especially since it was from Blake's point of view. I was anxious to know more about him. Now, I wish I didn't. He was a disappointment. To me,  he seemed to be all broody, horny, jerk with no substance. He seems to spend most of his time sleeping around. I got really tired of the repetitive sex scenes. I needed more plot. I get it. He's a man whore. Is that really all there is too him besides fighting his dark side? I'm sure he grows as a character in future books, unfortunately, I'm not really interested in him anymore. The last quarter of the book was pretty great though. I wish the whole book had grabbed me the way the ending did. I want to go back and read all the books in the Dragonian series. I forgot how much I loved this world!

Darkbeam Part I by Adrienne Woods was kindly provided to me by Audiobookworm Promotions for review. The opinions are my own.

Check out my review of another book by this author!

I was born and raised in South Africa, where I reside with my husband and two beautiful little girls till this day.

I'm very passionate about my writing and my first novel Firebolt will be released the 20th November 2013. It's the first part of a four part series called The Dragonian Series. I'm planning to get the second part out next year same time.

When I'm not writing, I love to read and review other upcomming authors on my blog. I'm a host with a virtual tour company and I'm soon going to start reviewing for GMTA Publishers, who also will be publishing my series.

Love, love, love my family, and wouldn't have been able to do any of this without their support.
