It's no secret that Alyssa Rose Ivy is one of my favorite authors. I look forward to her books probably more than any other author. She just has this special way of pulling you into her worlds no matter what the genre may be.Life After Falling is no exception. It was serious, yet it was light. These are characters that everyone can relate to in some way. You may have been in their situation or something similar. They have that real feel with magnetic personalities to really bring them to life. I enjoyed watching their friendship grow from the first meeting to something more serious. The romance was intoxicating. I even got a few butterflies during some parts. I LOVE when a book can do that.

The ARC Life After Falling by Alyssa Rose Ivy  was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

"Can I look?" I gestured to the movie collection he had piled next to the massive TV.
"Sure." He walked over to the kitchen counter and put down his keys, wallet, and phone. I liked that he put down his phone. It meant he was all there with me. I’d worked hard to break my own addiction to technology.
"Quite the collection." My eyes ran over the titles.
"I've picked up a few over the years."
"What's your favorite?" I kneeled down to see them better.
"You can't ask me that."
"Why not?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Because I don't have one favorite. Each category is different."
"But no overarching favorite?"
"Not for movies, but I do for music. Movies are like food while music is like women."
"Uh, do I want to know what that means?"
"Movies each have different purposes for me. Some make me laugh, some make me think. Some are entertainment. Like food. How can you compare a burger with a slice of cake? They serve different purposes.”
"Got it, but why is music like women?"
"Music has one purpose. To move someone. I can pick one favorite. The same goes for women. Who needs variety if you can find everything in just one?"
Words had never turned me on so much. "That's an interesting way to view things."
"It works."
I stood up. "But what if you never find one thing that has everything you need? Do you keep searching?”

  1. I loved this book. It's not an ugly crier but I cried anyway. Alyssa has created a really realistic story. A story that happens more often than people would like to admit. Cassidy and Leo will make you laugh almost on every page. Their sense of humor is different. They are being snarky to each other but also understand each other in ways that other people can't. That's why I love their relationship so much.
