Review Tour! Before The End by J.A. Pierre

Before The End (An Island Romance 1-3) by J.A. Pierre
Genre: Adult (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: October 8, 2014
Publisher: Self

Nyla was going to spend the summer in Trinidad. Then she'd be off to start her career in the windy city of Chicago. She just wanted to kick back on the beach and, with any luck, run into her first love.

Liam wasn't a big believer in romance. He didn't anticipate falling for the American who walked into his garage. Things heat up on the island as opposites attract. But the sand in the hourglass is dwindling.

Will Liam give Nyla a reason to stay?

Before the End is a serial novel by J.A. Pierre. Nyla has just finished vet school, and she's going to spend the summer in Trinidad with her parents before taking a new job in Chicago. I may have misread, but it seemed like she finished undergrad and vet school in 4 years when it takes 8 years total. Four years for vet school alone. The story was cute. Being from opposite ends of the spectrum, Nyla and Liam have some prejudices from her family and even among themselves to overcome. Then you add Michael, Nyla's first love, into the mix and that really messes with things. I didn't understand why Nyla kept seeing Michael even when her mind was made up. That didn't make sense to me, and of course, it caused problems. Nyla never grew on me. In my opinion, Liam could have done better. The story kept my attention, and it was a very fast read.

Before The End by J.A. Pierre  was kindly provided to me by Reading Addiction Virtual Book Tours for review. The opinions are my own.

I write African-American romance novels. I grew up on the East Coast and enjoy the art of storytelling.

My current publications are:

The Rich Housewives of Bon Avenue. A bundle of the four novels is coming soon, individual entries are free in Kindle Unlimited.
