Safe and Sound Book Blast!

Fields of Elysium Saga is a young-adult fantasy series that follows the adventures of sixteen-year-old Molly Bennett. The story is set in Los Angeles, CA, and on Arkana, the new Earth.  Safe and Sound is a prequel novella to Fields of Elysium and introduces the harsh lives of the Arkanians and follows Victor Sorren from birth till the moment he meets Molly. Victor is the Byronic hero of the series and this novella gives a very intimate insight into his life and soul. Safe and Sound is part of the series yet stands alone. A bonus story and also an introduction to the series.

Safe and Sound  (Fields of Elysium Novella) by A.B. Whelan
Genre: Young Adult (Science Fiction/Fantasy Romance)
Date Published: April 29, 2014
Publisher: InMotion Capitol

Safe and Sound is a prequel novella to Fields of Elysium and it introduces the harsh life of the Arkanians and follows Victor Sorren, the Byronic hero of the series, from birth till the moment he meets Molly.

Recommended reading age 16+ due to mild violence and some mild sexual situations.

In the world where freedom is no longer your right; where being in love and starting a family is not a blessing but a curse, a baby is born. To spare him from the harsh life the Arkanian slaves in Terraka City have to endure, his parents attempt the impossible.

They have to pay a high price for their courage.

Heartbroken and lonely, Victor Sorren spends his life waiting for his father’s return. But how much pain and suffering can be inflicted on an innocent young boy before hatred takes over his heart? Yet there is no darkness without light. And falling for a girl from Earth might provide just the right amount of light to bring hope back to Victor’s dark heart.

I'm a Hungarian born American writer, who was lucky enough to travel Europe, Africa, and The Middle East and live in Ecuador, Crete and Italy. I graduated as a computer engineer, thus if anybody tells you math and literature can't walk hand in hand, don't believe them. *smile*

I'm the author of the Fields of Elysium saga, which I like to call a young adult romantic fantasy. The first book of the series was inspired by amazing movies like Dirty Dancing, Avatar, and Twilight and earned praise from prestigious review companies and readers. I'm currently working on book three and four, and planning to write two more novellas to finish the series, dedicated to two very interesting characters in my story, Victor Sorren, the byronic hero, and The Prophet, the mysterious leader of the Arkanians.

Book Review: First by Alyssa Rose Ivy

First (The Crescent Chronicles novella) by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Genre: New Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Published: February 1, 2014
Publisher: Self

Levi POV Novella

Levi's got it all. He's a paranormal prince with more money and power than he knows what to do with, but something is missing—a mate. He only has until college graduation to find her.

Allie's perfect but she wants nothing to do with him. When attraction becomes something more, will he take a chance and show her who he really is or will he lose everything?

First is a Crescent Chronicles novella by Alyssa Rose Ivy told from Levi's point of view. This book takes place during Flight, Book one, when Levi and Allie first meet. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into Levi's mind. It let me know what he was thinking and felt when they first met and how those things started to change and grow as they got to know each other. I really enjoyed his internal monologue as he took his first blows to the ego too. It was good for him. *grins*

First by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Release Day Blitz! Blood Magic by T.G. Ayer

Blood Magic (SoulTracker #1) by T.G. Ayer
Genre: New Adult (Fantasy)
Date Published: April 28, 2014
Publisher: Infinite Ink Books

My name is Mel Morgan and I'm a Tracker. I find people for a living. The people I help have no idea I know exactly how they feel because I've lost someone too. If only I could have found the one person I've been looking for all these years.

My current case is no ordinary abduction. Before long I'm neck deep in blood magic - the worst kind. I need the help of a necromancer if I'm to free the kid. Doesn't mean I have to like it.

When sexy djinn Saleem asks for help things get a little hot to handle. But how can I say no? Dodging demons and sorcerers are just part of my day job.

"So you'll arrest me because I spoke to a guy? Mighty protective of you, Detective."

I smiled, injecting a little charm into the turn to my lips. "I always knew there was a reason you followed me around twenty-four seven, Detective. I just never realized it was because you had the hots for me."

A snort of laughter emanated from his dark-haired partner and I tilted my head to address him. "So who are you supposed to be? You the latest sorry sucker they found to babysit this fool?" I pointed a thumb at Fulbright who choked with fury at my words. Not that being polite to Fulbright had ever been my strong suit.

I have been a writer from the time I was old enough to recognise that reading was a doorway into my imagination. Poetry was my first foray into the art of the written word. Books were my best friends, my escape, my haven. I am essentially a recluse but this part of my personality is impossible to practise given I have two teenage daughters, who are actually my friends, my tea-makers, my confidantes... I am blessed with a husband who has left me for golf. It's a fair trade as I have left him for writing. We are both passionate supporters of each others loves - it works wonderfully...

My heart is currently broken in two. One half resides in South Africa where my old roots still remain, and my heart still longs for the endless beaches and the smell of moist soil after a summer downpour. My love for Ma Afrika will never fade. The other half of me has been transplanted to the Land of the Long White Cloud. The land of the Taniwha, beautiful Maraes, and volcanoes. The land of green, pure beauty that truly inspires. And because I am so torn between these two lands - I shall forever remain crosseyed.

Book Blast! Prejudice Meets Pride by Rachael Anderson

Prejudice Meets Pride (Meet Your Match #1) by Rachael Anderson
Genre: Adult Fiction (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: April 28, 2014
Publisher:  HEA Publishing

After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.

Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn’t afraid to show him that he doesn’t. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

Rachael Anderson is the author of four books: Divinely Designed, Luck of the Draw, Minor Adjustments, and The Reluctant Bachelorette. She’s the mother of four and is pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. She can’t sing, doesn’t dance, and despises tragedies. But she recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread, which she is really good at eating.
