Final Death is the third book in the Transhuman Chronicles by Rose Garcia. There was so much thought and detail that went into this series, it's crazy! It's not at all what I expected when I first started reading this series. I'm pretty impressed. If you haven't read the previous books yet, this is something you must do, and they must be read in order so you know what the heck is going on. There were some definite surprises in this book. The romance is unique, the action doesn't stop, the emotions were unexpected, the characters were surprising, and the touches of humor add a nice little something.  Things are wrapped up quite nicely within this book. I'm very happy with the ending. Again, it wasn't at all what I expected, but I think that made me love it even more. The Transhuman Chronicles is just what the Paranormal genre needed.

Rose Garcia is a lawyer turned writer who's always been fascinated by science fiction and fantasy. From a very young age, she often had her nose buried in books about other-worlds, fantastical creatures, and life and death situations. More recently she's been intrigued by a blend of science fiction and reality, and the idea that some supernatural events are, indeed, very real. Fueled by her imagination, she created The Transhuman Chronicles--a series of books about people who have overcome human limitations.

Rose lives in Houston with her husband and two kids.

Release & Review! Savor by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Savor (The Empire Chronicles #4) by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Genre: New Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Expected Publication: April 30, 2015
Publisher: Self

Jared is Vera's perfect man—until he opens his mouth. An incredible body and set of wings can only go so far when everything he says seems designed to make her mad. Still, she can't deny her intense attraction or the fact that he is the closest thing she has to a friend.

Jared doesn't go for bear shifters, especially ones that are related to his ex, but he can't resist Vera's charm or the way she understands him better than anyone else.

As suspicions build and loyalties are tested, Vera and Jared realize that they may not be able to trust anyone but each other.

Savor is the fourth book in the Empire Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. Jared's story!! Yay finally!! Like I said about the last book... Jared has met his match. Vera and Jared are so entertaining. The chemistry between them is palpable and they are so stinkin' funny. This book was full of action and the kind of romance you can feel as you read. Jared has been my favorite since the Crescent Chronicles because of his attitude and overall snarky personality. There's lots to be done for both of the characters within this story, and when you have Jared and Vera in one book, it's impossible to put it down. Ready for more good news? Their story isn't finished yet.

“I’m glad you don’t want me dead.” He smirked. Even his smirk was sexy.
“I’d be on my own if you were.” I put my hands behind my head.
“And you don’t like being alone?” He studied me in the darkness. Sometimes I wished neither of us had night vision. It left you so naked, never having an opportunity to hide.
“I do most of the time.”
“But not always?” His eyes raked over my body. The fact that he could make such a platonic conversation feel sexual gave me even more reason to resist him.
“Why does it matter?” Often the best way to avoid a question is to ask your own.
“It matters because I asked it.” And there went his mouth again.
My annoyance gave me back my will power. “Put a shirt on.”
“Why?” He grinned. “Am I distracting you?”
“No, but we should go. The sun will be up soon enough.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t go with you.” He sat up, swinging his legs off the side of the bed.
“No way.” I moved to standing. “You’re not backing out.”
“Why do you care?” He stood with his back to me. “You can do this alone.”
“Of course I can.”
He turned to me. “Then why does it matter if I go my own way?” He pulled on his t-shirt, and a little part of me missed the view.
“Because we agreed to help each other out. I stick to my promises.” That was one of my good traits. The not so good traits weren’t worth reflecting on.
“Maybe I don’t.”
“You do.” I put a hand on my hip. I didn’t have time for Jared’s games.
“How do you know?”
“I just do.”
“You’re infuriating.”
I groaned. “And what are you?”
“Charming.”
If I’d had liquid in my mouth I would have spit it out. “Not exactly the word I’d use to describe you.”
“Says the girl begging me to stay with her.”
“I never begged.” I crossed my arms over my chest.
“Would you beg?” His grin was his undoing.
“Is that how you like it, Jared? With your women begging?”
“I wasn’t talking about how I like my women.”
“Are you sure about that?” I grabbed my backpack and headed into the cabin’s small bathroom.
“Where are you going?”
I paused with my hand on the door. “To shower.”

Book Review: Stay by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Stay (The Empire Chronicles #3) by Alyssa Rose Ivy
Genre: New Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Expected Publication: October 20, 2014
Publisher: Self

Nothing could possibly get worse. Everything and everyone that could be in jeopardy already is, and Jared knows that he is The Society's only hope. If he doesn't find a way to escape he fails everyone including Vera, the bear shifter he can't seem to get out of his head.

Casey and Toby are in love. Head over heels in love, but is their love strong enough to survive a magic so powerful that Casey's mind is no longer in her control?

Vera will do anything to help her sister, and unfortunately that means she is well acquainted with Jared, the most frustrating man she has ever met. Now she has to find a way to fight her annoyance and growing attraction long enough to help save Levi and Allie.

Racing against the clock, all four must face their greatest fears to save The Society and all the people they love.

Stay is the third book in the Empire Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I love Casey an Toby, and I love that Toby is finally getting the girl. Or is he? Either way, Toby went from a character that I really disliked in the Crescent chronicles to an all around decent dude. Then we have Jared, who finds himself in some awkward if bot dangerous situations in this book. Is it time to let a girl save the day? You know I've loved Jared from the start, and I think he's finally met his match... in more ways than one. I can't wait for more of his story!

“Then just kiss me already. Get it over with.” “Kiss you? Are you kidding?” “No.” “I already told you I’m not sleeping with you.” “Then just shut up.” She yanked on my shirt pulling me toward her. Her lips were on mine before I could process it. My lips responded immediately, greedily sucking on her bottom lip before pushing my way into her mouth. She moaned, eagerly letting me in. My tongue tangled with hers, as I explored every corner of her mouth. Before my hands could do their own exploration she broke the kiss. “So much better.” She hopped down from the bar. “Excuse me?” I was still spinning from the kiss. Had she really stopped that suddenly? “Ok, let’s talk about the plan.”  “Now?” I asked with disbelief. “After that?” “You could say thank you.” “Thank you?” “For easing the tension. It was thick enough to cut with a knife, but I preferred your tongue.” “So that’s it? You just did that to ease sexual tension?” “What did you think I was doing?” “Giving in to your desires.” My eyes devoured her. Her tank top had pulled up when we were kissing, exposing even more smooth skin I wanted to touch. “You mean our desires. There’s nothing one sided here.” I glanced down at the bulge still obvious in my pants.“You’ve got that right.” “You’re not a bad kisser.” “Not bad?” I raised an eyebrow. “I’d say you’re a seven.” “A seven? I’m a ten. I’m a ten at everything involving sex.” I had no confidence issues in that department. No matter how pissed girls got at me, they never complained about the sex. “But that wasn’t sex. Your dick wasn’t involved. I’m sure you rely on it to earn you points.” “I don’t just rely on my dick.” “Oh yeah? Well your tongue seems a little bit out of practice. Not using it much?” “I use it plenty.” “Oh. My mistake.” She licked her lips. “Anyway back to that plan.”
