WitchLove Tour!! A Review of WitchLove by Emma Mills!

Genre: Young Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Date Published: February 14, 2013
Publisher: Self

The Blurb:
With the reappearance of a lost love, Jess flees to the only people who can help her control her increasing powers and gain independence – her family’s coven. But with a bruised heart can Jess learn to forgive or will she find new love in the United States? WitchLove, the third installment of the WitchBlood series, is a new adventure that takes Jess from New England to Voodoo country in the South.

My Review:
WitchLove is the third book in the WitchBlood Series by Emma Mills. If you haven't started this series yet, check out my reviews of Witchblood (Book 1) and WitchCraft (Book 2)! Jess is coming more and more into her own. She's more comfortable in her skin and with who she is on both her vampire and witch sides, and she's good at being both. She's strong and stands up for herself. This book was all about the witches, for the most part. I've grown so attached to the vampires in this series, so I really missed them a lot in this book. But, I know this had to happen too. Jess had to find her roots at some point, so why not now?  There was a lot of adventure, suspense, and some all out evil witches through this story. There are also some unexpected allies which I enjoyed. WitchLove definitely kept me on my toes. I've had so much fun reading this series! I'm anxious for more!

The ARC of WitchLove by Emma Mills was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

About the Author:
Hi I'm Emma. I am happily married with two lovely children. I have always loved reading and writing and published my first novel WitchBlood in Jan 2012 with Witchcraft following in June and WitchLove due in Feb 2013. After acquiring an obsessive love of supernatural teen novels...yes I'm a Twilight fan...I decided to write my
own supernatural story based here in Manchester in the UK, near where I live and grew up. It's currently dark, windy, cold and very very wet... and easy to get inspiration.

WitchLove Tour!! A Book Review of WitchCraft by Emma Mills

Genre: Young Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Date Published: June 15, 2012
Publisher: Self

The Blurb:
Jess is no ordinary vampire. Protected by the Manchester vampire clan, and initiated by her family’s east coast American coven, she is sought after by every dark witch and warring vampire faction. Jess must fight if she wants to keep hold of her friends, her sanity and finally her existence.

As the dead bodies of human girls begin to stack up, and her recently accepted vampire boyfriend, Daniel, finds himself in prison, Jess goes on a crazy, forbidden trip to London, racing against time to save an old friend and solve the mystery behind Daniel’s incarceration. In battling new enemies and finding new friends, Jess’s confidence finds room to grow, but who will she lose along the way?

My Review:
WitchCraft is the second book in the WitchBlood series by Emma Mills. If you haven't read WitchBlood yet, I highly recommend you do so, and check out my review while you're at it! Too often, a sequel leaves me disappointed because it just doesn't live up to the high expectations created by a wonderful first book in a series. This is not the case with WitchCraft. In fact, this is one of the best sequels I've read. It keeps the reader engaged in the plot line. Jess has so much she has to get used to in her life, plus she's being pulled in different directions by people and groups of people. Not all of them have her best interests in mind. She has to mature quickly. Not just as a vampire, or witch, or even a teenager, but she has to mature as a person. Her character has been well built through this series so far and I've really enjoyed reading from her perspective. The characters, even the immortals, aren't perfect. They all have their faults and weaknesses, and that makes them more believable as characters. I'm beginning to think this author might not be opposed to killing off main characters. Whatever the outcome, it's equally enthralling! I'm really pumped up to start reading the next installment, WitchLove. Read WitchCraft? Check out my review of WitchLove (Book 3)!

Frost Fire Tour! A Review of Frost Fire by Olivia Rivers

Genre: Young Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Date Published: November 12, 2012
Publisher: Red Sparrow Press

The Blurb:
“Magic is just like love, Allai. It won’t wait for permission before it destroys you.”

Like sand in an hourglass, Allai’s future is dwindling away. She’s spent her entire life fighting the Mages who threaten humanity, and dreams of someday eradicating magic. But all it takes is an anonymous phone call for the truth to spill out: Allai is the one thing she despises most.

She’s a Mage.

Though ancient law mandates Allai’s death, she still has one last chance of survival. His name is Drake Rhaize, and he swears he can lead Allai to a sanctuary for Mages. Allai hasn’t seen Drake in years, but she remembers him as the Demon boy who used to hold her close and softly whisper that he’d keep her safe. But Drake has changed since then: He’s now suspected of murder, and has been out-casted for betraying his own kind.

While Allai doesn’t trust Drake, she has no choice but to put her life in his hands and hope he can get her to safety. Because Allai’s father has hired a pack of Demons to bring her back to him, dead or alive–and Demons never stop the hunt.

Portions of proceeds from her “Tortured Elements” series go toward supporting youth with dysautonomia. A great read for a great cause!
Buy the book at: Barnes & Noble and Amazon

My Review:
Frost Fire is the first book in the Tortured Elements series. This is a wonderful start to a new series.  You are given both Allai's and Drake's perspective. The writing immediately draws you in to their lives with action, romance, and touches of raw emotions. The characters and world within the story were believable and put together very well. Allai had damsel in distress syndrome pretty bad, but I think she will strengthen and over come this. I think she wants to. The more I learned about Drake and his upbringing the more endearing he became. Frost Fire was highly entertaining and reeled me right in from the start. I'm very impressed by this young author. She designed the beautiful cover of Frost Fire herself. She's still in high school and already knows how to tell a great story! I can't wait to read more from her!

Cover Reveal: Emancipating Andie by Priscilla Glenn

Genre: Adult (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: Mar. 2013
Cover Designer: Okay Creations
Tour Coordinator: AToMR Tours

The Blurb:
Ever since the one time Andie Weber threw caution to the wind - and paid the price for it - she’s learned that it’s safer and smarter to live life playing by the rules. Now she’s got a great apartment, a steady job, and a wonderful boyfriend in Colin; he’s sweet, stable, and essentially perfect – except maybe for the fact that his best friend is Chase.

Chase McGuire lives his carefree, unstructured life strictly for himself. Dripping sarcasm and oozing wit, he refuses to censor his feelings or opinions for anyone, making no apologies for either and wearing his abrasiveness like a badge of honor. No one has ever gotten under Andie’s skin the way Chase does – and vice versa.

So when Andie and Chase find themselves forced to take a two-day road trip together, they are already dreading an inevitable all-out war. But as the trip progresses, and the undeniable friction that has always defined their relationship slowly begins to wear away their preconceived notions of each other, Andie and Chase discover they both have a lot to learn about life, courage, happiness, and the age-old battle between logic and love.

Book Review: The Truth About Letting Go by Leigh Talbert Moore

Genre: Young Adult (Contemporary Romance)
Date Published: February 21, 2013
Publisher: Self

The Blurb:
Ashley wants to smash everything in her once-perfect life.

Charlotte wants to walk in Ashley's seemingly charmed shoes.
Colt wants to turn Smalltown USA on its ear--with Ashley at his side.
Jordan wants to follow his heart... but Ashley is the one sacrifice he never expected to make.

Ashley Lockett has always followed the rules. She's always done the right thing, played it safe, gone to church. And then her ideal life is shattered when her dad dies suddenly.

Fueled by anger and grief, she vows to do everything opposite of how she lived before. She rejects safety, rules, faith,

and then she meets Jordan.

Jordan has big dreams, he's had a crush on Ashley for years, and he's a great kisser. But he's also safe.

Enter Colt. He is not safe, and he's more than willing to help Ashley fulfill her vow.

My Review:
The Truth About Letting Go is the sequel to The Truth About Faking by Leigh Talbert Moore, however you don't need to read them in order as each book stands alone. This story takes place in the same location as the first, and I love how the creek is still an important area even though we have new characters. I would definitely go there to escape too. Ashley is very real and believable as a character. She is grieving over the loss of her father, and she is angry. So, she tries to escape his memory and her feelings by becoming the opposite of who she was when her father was alive. Jordan wants to take care of her. He is such a sweetheart, and I loved him from the start. Colt is, of course, the bad boy. I normally like the bad boys the most, and in the beginning I liked Colt too, but he quickly lost my favor. Jordan and Colt are like the angel and devil on her shoulder, and right now she wants to listen to the devil because he helps her mask the pain. I really like how the story touches on God and faith, and it does so without being preachy. With such a big loss like this, everyone questions their faith. No matter what you believe, everyone wonders why. Ashley's thoughts, and feelings, and even how she reacts to and copes with such a loss feels very real. The Truth About Letting Go is told beautifully. Once I picked up the book, I wasn't able to put it back down until I was finished. It simply wouldn't let me. I'm impressed by this author. Everything I've read by Leigh Talbert Moore brings me right into the worlds she creates.

Blog Tour!! A Book Review of Focus by Alyssa Rose Ivy!

Genre: New Adult (Paranormal Romance)
Published: January 23, 2013
Publisher: Self

The Blurb:
Freshman year of college is hard even when you're not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.

Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she's in far too deep to turn back.

My Review:
Focus is the second book in The Crescent Chronicles by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I'm so  completely hooked on this series! You must read Flight, book one, if you haven't done so already! You just have to! In Focus, Allie is adjusting to her new life and doing it in her own way. I hate to admit it, but I would have probably forgiven Levi pretty quickly. I mean, it's Levi! How could you not? Allie, on the other hand, is stronger than I am and isn't making it easy on him. I love how Levi treats her as he's trying to get forgiveness and trust. It's so darn cute. And he doesn't lose his attitude in the process. This book brought us some new characters that were a fun addition to the story. Holy cow! The ending was unexpected! It will be agony waiting to see what happens next! With all it's many paranormals and secrets, I could live in this world Alyssa Rose Ivy has created and never miss reality! This is fast becoming one of my favorite series! It's a definite must read!
